About the wine A concentrated red with aromas of wild red berries and currants. On the palate it is well balanced with good fruit, tannins and a herbal finish.
About the makers Established in the early 1960s, by André and Mireille Tissot the Domaine is now managed by Bénédicte and Stéphane Tissot. Widely regarded as one of the best in this region, they operate 45 hectares across Arbois and Côtes du Jura. Committed to Demeter certified Biodynamic practices, and an ambitious vision, it has been a journey of ambassadorship for the region and natural winemaking that begun with a connection made from afar.
Stéphane's eye-opening experience working at Brown Brothers in Australia during the 1990s ignited a realisation: the yeast fermenting wine miles away mirrored the one his father used in Jura. Returning home, Stéphane witnessed a shift in Jura's winemaking focus, steering away from super fruity Chardonnay styles to embrace historical roots for progression.
The cool family cellars of Domaine Tissot, in the Montigny-les-Arsureswhich, allow for slow fermentation. Equipped with large, old oak casks (including some from Chassin of Rully), an experimental wooden vat from Stockinger of Austria, and five clay amphorae, these unique elements allow for a diverse range of styles to emerge, emphasizing minimal winemaker intervention.
