Magnum Morgon 2024
An iconic, finely sculpted natural wine from one of the most important names in Beaujolais. Delicately extracted with beautifully pure old vine-y fruit, enhanced by ten months ageing in casks from Prieuré-Roch in Burgundy.
Alongside Guy Breton, Jean-Paul Thévenet, and Jean Foillard, Marcel Lapierre was one of the iconic 'Gang of Four' - a group of vignerons who, inspired by Jules Chauvet, called for a return to the old practices of viticulture and vinification: starting with old vines, never using synthetic herbicides or pesticides, harvesting late, rigorously sorting to remove all but the healthiest grapes, adding minimal doses of sulfur dioxide or none at all, and disdaining chaptalization. Marcel was one of the very first advocates of natural wine.
