Stephane Delettre
Stephane wasn’t destined to become a winemaker. Originally from the Paris region, Stephane worked for many years in the building industry. Wanting to work on the land and with his desire to dive into the wine world, Stephane took the radical decision to spend two years learning viticulture and oenology in Beaune, Burgundy. Once he qualified, it was time for him and his family to leave their life in the city for good.
Guided, inspired and helped by Laurent Herlin and Sébastien David, winemakers from the Loire, Stephane decided to settle in St Nicolas de Bourgueil. He worked for three years with Laurent Herlin before starting out in February 2016 with 1.5 hectares of his own; he is now expanding to five hectares planted with Cabernet Franc in both Restigné and Ingrandes.
Stephane’s estate is made up of plots representative of all the terroirs of the Bourgueil area: sand, gravel and gravel. The cultivation of the vine is respectful of nature: his vineyards are certified Organic and he uses no synthetic products and guided by biodynamic principles. He harvests by hand, meticulously processing the grapes.
Honest, with a beautiful expression of the terroir, the wines perfectly reflect his character.
