Pure Single Jamaican Rum 8YO
Pure Single Jamaican Rum 8YO
Region: Jamaica
Alc: 46%
How it tastes: Intensely rich with banana, allspice, dried orange zest, and baked apple flavours with persistent notes of ginger, vanilla, dark chocolate.
How it's made: Use of solely water flowing from a natural source in the different production stages. Wild fermentation, 100% artisanal distillation in copper double pot stills, natural colour and no added sugar in the rum.
About the maker: Founded in 1753, Hampden Estate has been distilling rum for almost three centuries in the Trelawny Parish, historically known as the grand cru of Jamaican rum. In 2009, Hampden Estate started to age its Pure Single Rums, opening a new era in the world of spirits.
Produced with unique and partly secret methods that have remained unchanged since the 18th century, Hampden Estate rum has a distinct and iconic aromatic profile. This is in great part due to an extremely high level of esters achieved by a very long, complex process.
